Take your breakfast or snack to the next level with a homemade spread that’s sweet, creamy, and fruity. Strawberry butter is made from fresh strawberries and butter, perfect for toast, muffins, pancakes, or even as a cake filling. This easy-to-make spread adds a touch of indulgence to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

  • ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries – Wash and hull fresh strawberries. Pat them dry to remove excess moisture.

  2. Puree or Mash – Blend or mash strawberries to your desired texture (smooth or slightly chunky).

  3. Combine Ingredients – In a blender, food processor, or stand mixer, mix the strawberries, softened butter, and sugar until smooth and creamy.

  4. Adjust Flavor – Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness with more sugar or lemon juice.

  5. Optional Step (Cooked Version) – Heat mixture over low heat for a few minutes to intensify flavor, stirring constantly.

  6. Cool and Store – Let the mixture cool, then transfer to an airtight container. Refrigerate until firm.

Enjoy your strawberry butter on toast, pancakes, or as a dessert topping!

Notes

  • Keep refrigerated for up to 6 months in an airtight container.

  • For longer storage, freeze up to 1 year (leave ½ inch of space in the container).

  • If the butter is too runny, add more butter or cook longer to reduce moisture.

  • Customize your butter with honey, cinnamon, or vanilla for unique flavors.
